Juliet Mae is a San Francisco family business. We believe every home chef should be empowered to create healthy, world-class cuisine with a minimum of effort. Based on authentic ethnic recipes, our spice products are crafted from the best natural and organic ingredients available. Our motto is "hand made, no bad stuff, easy to use."
To achieve freshness, we grind whole spices, then hand-blend in small batches. We carefully pack the blends into our vapor-barrier pouches. The result: incredible flavor. From delicate, floral top-notes to richly satisfying base-notes, our spices will enchant the palate and warm the soul.

I was looking around the supermarket one day and I realized that the spice isle was the most confusing section of the store.“Once you try our hand crafted seasoning products, we hope you will agree that great tasting food doesn’t have to be complicated to be good!”

All the jars looked alike: uniform sizing, similar labeling and spice selection. The contents really didn’t look very fresh and it was difficult to ascertain why one leading brand was a lot more expensive than another.
Nonetheless, I carefully picked out the ingredients to make that special dish I had been planning. Splurging on the one brand that seemed to be the freshest.
A couple of weeks later when I went to use those spices, I noticed they just didn’t have much oomph and they cost a fortune to boot. There had to be a better way. As a former marketing person, it seemed incredible that everyone was willing to settle for just ok. The spice category looked ripe for some “fresh thinking.”
In late spring of 2003, I did a bunch of research. I brought a couple of grinders, a notebook, some whole spices and began to teach myself how to make really good seasoning products.
Over the course of the next two years, I moved an idea from my kitchen to your table. There were a lot of twists and turns, but the biggest revelation of all was a very simple one: make a better product and people will respond!
In short, I became obsessed with crafting the freshest, most nuanced flavors. And, I continue to refine them to this day.
